Youre Only Human

Anytime you try to do something new, you’re guaranteed to stumble along the way and it’s a part of the learning process. Realize that part of being human means that we’re not perfect and remind yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing. Learn to recognize your triggers and then put together a plan to beat them. Knowing what leads you to over eat is the first step in overcoming it.

Discover what is preventing you from eating well or from staying on plan. Remember, eating well for many of us isn’t something that we learn as a child or even as an adult. For some of us, it came later in life. The paths you choose will teach you more about yourself then you realize. Learn from each mistake and move forward.

Our Mothers watched us tumble and fall before we took our first steps alone. Tears came and frustration. Why would now be any different? Dust yourself off and get back to it!

Take a deep breath and ask yourself, “Where do I want to be?”

Being Human Means Not Having To Be Perfect

I was talking with Rob about my not so perfect eating habits lately and he asked me,

Would it be ok if you don’t eat perfect all the time?

I hesitated and said yes.

I reflect on what was said during that conversation. I was continually beating myself up over making mistakes instead of recognizing my errors and taking action. It was easier to throw in the towel and fall back into poor eating habits that felt comfortable then to once again get ‘back in the saddle’ which means work. I have now realized that eating healthy will contribute to the results I am looking for and yes, hard work.

New Years Resolutions and Goal Setting Tips

New Years Eve thoughts turn to New Years Resolutions and with it, all sorts of manifesting and “law of attraction” principles. Whether or not you know of the law of attraction, or manifesting tips or techniques, I’m sure you set out some goals for the new year.

Looking back over 2007 here on the blog, the writers and I have posted what turned out to be some really great law of attraction and manifesting tips that I’d like to return your attention to before you write your new years goals.

Law of Attraction Principles For New Years Resolutions

Weight Loss

The hidden secret to the movie “The Secret” is a very simple principle. It’s about taking action. My post this summer in regards to the Law Of Attraction For Weight Loss was about exactly that. You can think about it all you want, learn about what to do, buy all the expensive gym memberships or home fitness equipment, but until you Get Off Your Ass and get to work, all the wishing, thinking, dreaming, meditation and goal setting isn’t going to result in an ounce of muscle being built or a pound of fat being burned. Most new years resolutions start with a great goal in mind, but wind down just a few short days or weeks later. Getting the body you want in the new year is going to require a bit more work than that. Read my thoughts on Taking Action On Your Weight Loss.

How Emotional Freedom Technique Can Reduce The Stress In Your Life.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) can reduce stress the stress in your life including the fear of public speaking. They say the Fear of Public Speaking is the fear that affects most people today and if you have ever had the misfortune to be in front of many or few of your peers and have had to fight for breath control, to wrestle with your heart rate, try to dry your sweaty palms and pits and plead with your tongue to just speak clearly and slowly, you can relate to those folks to attempt to do it regularly. Emotional Freedom Technique is a simple method you can learn yourself, takes only a few short minutes before you stand up to speak and calms all fears of sounding stupid and feeling worse.

EFT can do all that and more. It works especially for the fear of public speaking and has a money back guarantee.

Emotional Freedom Technique And Work Stress

emotional freedom technique stressWhat about the stress you have at work? The job itself is enough to drive a person to drink and then there’s your boss!! The boss is never happy, you never get enough done, or do it right. Well then what about the jerks that you work with? Do they get a kick out of pushing you over the edge? And if you are the boss, can you believe the childish pre-schoolers that you hired and thought they were competent? You run a business not a kindergarten. Sometimes it’s hard to be enthused about getting up to face the day. What if you could wake up with a desire to live life as an adventure not a drudgery? EFT can do that! What if you loved the work you do? EFT can do that too! And the boss, are you saying EFT can make the boss a Joy to work with? Yes, that’s right? And those jerks you work with as well. Now really, we really can’t change anyone else or make them go away, but with EFT you can change how you see your world and all things in it and who else’s stress are you concerned about anyway?

…Law of Attraction…

…Manifestation….

…The Secret….

Words that I have been hearing a lot recently. I would time it at around 2 months.
I had heard the movie mentioned at work, on the subway, my grandmother was talking to my aunt about it. And now forum members are talking about it.

What is all the fuss about here….

I searched the internet for anything “The Secret” related. I downloaded the audio book to my MP3 player. I listened to it for 4 days straight.

Although I do understand the law of attraction, I have been struggling to capture my experiences in words and I am afraid this may all come out in a mosaic…

Applying The Law Of Attraction

Long before the hit movie “The Secret” came out I was a big fan of John Assaraf’s work, and I read Dr. Joe Vitale’s Book “The Attractor Factor“. As I followed John’s work throughout the years the one thing that resonated with me the most was his use of vision boards. I immediate realized how powerful this simple tool could be in my drive toward not only my fitness goals, but all goals in my life.

Throughout my University education in the field of Kinesiology, the subjects that fascinated me the most were Sport Psychology and Sport Philosophy. In these courses we learned a lot about the power of visualization and the same studies that are talked about in the movie “The Secret”. Believe me, there are countless studies out there on the power of visualization!

Visualizing my goals and experiencing the feelings and emotions of already achieving them has always come naturally to me within my sports background. But I knew that I had to give this vision board thing a try.

But…
