Sports Acrobatics – Incredible Strength Balance and Skill

An incredible display of strength, balance and skill by these acrobats. During any Circque du Soleil performance, it’s the strength and balance acts that I love the most.

This video shows the 5 different disciplines of sports acrobatics. These videos were recorded 2006 at the world championships of sports acrobatics in Coimbra / Portugal.

Have a look at Dominic Lacasse‘ video for another incredible display of upper body strength

How To Strengthen The Foot With A Bosu Ball

The Foot, we walk on them, jump with them, put them in fashionable shoes, kick things with them (ouch), pound on them (running), soak them, paint them but how do we make them stronger. I’ve put a lot of thought into how they work and how to make the foot stronger. I believe the feet are the base of our posture. So if you don’t have strong feet or have bunions, hammer toes, or wear shoes that make your feet unhappy, what happens?

We stopped wearing weight belts (or should have with few exceptions) because they made the muscles in the core weak but we have progressively added more and more support to our feet. No wonder we have foot problems. I have noticed that wearing what most would call a “good” athletic shoe the feet become weaker. Orthodics are similar and can cause problems and make the feet weaker as well.

When I see people that wear a shoe all the time I wonder if it’s really that good for the feet or if it’s doing more harm? When things like this are in question I like to go back to basics.

What Is Your Symbol Of Strength?

Most of us have many symbols of strength and sometimes it’s just one thing. You know, that one thing that when you see it, hear it, or feel it, it just makes you feel like you can do anything.

For me, it’s a lot of different things. The song “Rockstar” for instance, by Nickelback. It’s like the Universe is asking me what I want, and although my answers are not necessarily the same as his, I still get the chance to raise my vibration and tell the Universe what that is.

Another is a necklace my daughter gave me to wear. It’s really hers, but you know how that goes when you have a teenage daughter. Your stuff becomes her stuff and once in a while she lets you borrow something of hers. When I wear the necklace, it reminds me of all the possibilities she has to make this world a better place. She also has some of my abilities and is developing quite nicely.

Proof That Strong Women Are Pretty Cool

Kandace is writing a good lot about the strength of ancient women here on the blog beginning with Spartan Women and now writing about the African Queen Candace. Here is a really cool video showing a very strong British woman.

How To Begin Training With Kettlebells – Podcast

When I made the decision to take up Russian Kettlebell training, I only had a vague idea of where to start so I thought I’d put this podcast together so that you’d be able to follow along with me in my journey. I’ve known about Russian Kettlebells for a few years now but did not see the advantage or where I could work them into my program. I’ve now been enlightened by Scott Bird’s Straight To The Bar website, videos and Kettlebell information.

I have now “seen the light” as it were and have been fully immersed in the advantages of kettlebell training.

What Are Kettlebells?

Scott wrote a nice introduction to kettlebells a few weeks ago entitled Buying Your First Kettlebell, so I wont to into much more detail about them, however I would like to point out some very basic facts just to prep you for the podcast.
